Dear Sir
Isle of Man air race pilot from St Johns, Geoffrey Boot and his navigator wife Suzie, have completed another very successful air racing season. The last races were held in the Channel Isles over the weekend of 25/26 September and they came away with an armful of championship trophies including the Sonic Saturday race championship, the aircraft with the highest number of points racing at 150 miles per hour+ championship and the overall aggregate points for the season, the Mossey Preston Championship. In addition Suzie was awarded for the second year the Navigator's Trophy.

Racing their ex-Burkina Faso air force Siai Marchetti SF260, thankfully now not carrying its guns or rockets, they have stormed through the season which comprises eight race venues spread throughout Europe, with two races at each venue. The competition during the year has been tough with up to 25 competitors at each race, the races consisting of five or six laps over a 20-mile circuit.

The races are arranged by the Royal Aero Club Records Racing & Rally Association (www.airraceuk.co.uk). Geoffrey was chairman of the organisation until this year and still retains the role of World Records Coordinator.

As well as the current crop of trophies/championships Geoffrey and Suzie have in the past won the European Air Racing Championship, Olympic Tribute Trophy, King’s Cup and various other prestigious trophies over Geoffrey’s 18 year racing career. In addition to this Geoffrey holds 26 world aviation speed records.
